Our advanced CSS training course is designed to provide you with the ability to build accessible websites while utilising advanced CSS design techniques.
Their is however so much more to building accessible websites than having a high level knowledge of CSS and accessibility. We will teach you the values of semantic markup and how to correctly separate content from presentation to maximise your websites potential. You will learn how to deploy your XHTML structure alongside your CSS to make your website portable across different media types and thereby allow your business to reach a wider and varied audience.
The benefits do not stop there, you will save hundreds of hours per year in site maintenance time as you discover the power of controlling your website content, design and structure from a single location - your Cascading Style Sheet.
CSS is a technology that has been available for sometime, though it is only recently that it has begun to be deployed for website structure. The reason for this is that many problems exist with older browsers; browsers such as Internet Explorer 5 and Internet Explorer 5.5, these browsers are still widely used and should be specifically catered for.
The debugging of CSS designs and the techniques required to prevent older browsers rendering your site in a manner that could be unusable is something we cover in great depth within the advanced course. Any course that doesn't cover such aspects of CSS design is in our opinion, an incomplete course.
The in-house courses are held in Birkenhead on the Wirral. Refreshments are supplied throughout the day and an over-night stay can be arranged on your behalf if required.
The courses typically run from 09:30 to 16:30 with a break for lunch, refreshments are served in the classroom. The course centre has ample parking facilities and is located within easy reach of several good hotels, ideal if you feel it would be beneficial to stay over-night.
If required we can hold either course at your business premises; you will need to ensure each participant has access to their own computer. We can of course provide a competitive quote if this is the method you prefer
The contents of each course are listed below. If your training is to be completed in-house either course can be customised to suit your specific requirements.
This course requires no pre-requisite knowledge, and provides the under pinning knowledge for the Advanced course. It is here you will receive an introduction to CSS and how to use XHTML to ensure your web documents are semantically structured and machine readable.
This course requires that you have completed the basic course or your knowledge is equal to that accrued in the basic course.
